Installation instructions should include what substrate the metal panels or shingles could be laid over. What is acceptable and what will cause problems. For the colored metal roofs, all I’ve ever seen to fasten with is colored metal screws with neoprene washers. Do you have to lay furring strips? Can the roof be laid over sheathing with roofing felt (Weatherguard” edging might be a good idea) or over existing shingles? What steps can you take to make sure you et it on square as I hear a problem is that if you start just a little off the problem multiplies by the time you reach the other end of the roof? Where can I find the answer to these questions?
