We just had a copper roof put on a bay window..On one area there are some noticeable marks..They have not disappeared and the installer wants to come out and clean it and put a lacquer finish on the roof. I am very leary of doing this. Any comments..

DO NOT clean your copper roof! The copper will turn green after 10 to 15 years, this is the natrual protective layer that makes copper last for 100 + years. If you clean your copper you are slowly removing layers of copper and reducing the life of your roof, NOT adding to.

Use painted metal. Copper penny from Pac-Clad will keep its copper look for 30 + years.
